Of course, which definition of peace are we to take here? If I understand correctly, the Koran uses a nigh-biblical definition of peace that includes falling in step with God's rule. Subordination is a natural part of the definition of peace, and I don't take offense at that (since subordination rather than egalitarianism is inherent in, for instance, Genesis 1).
I wonder what it is that makes some Muslim extremists hate America so. Is it Christianity? No; it's consumerism, I suspect.

Update to that: but the subordination in Genesis does not involve use of violence. Should have mentioned that all-important detail.
